Durán-Sindreu strengthens its management team with the appointment of Anna Ric and Silvia Monje as partners

Strengthening the Public Sector Tax practice

Anna Ric, previously Head of the Public Sector Taxation area, now leads the firm’s Tax department. She has extensive expertise in indirect taxation, advising mainly public administrations and public sector entities on all matters with tax implications.

Her practice focuses on Value Added Tax (VAT) advisory, technical assistance in tax management and audit procedures, as well as economic-administrative and contentious proceedings. She also has broad experience in international indirect taxation (VAT, Customs and Excise duties).

Throughout her career, she has advised both domestic companies with international operations and foreign entities operating or planning to operate in Spain. In addition, she has participated in legislative reforms affecting VAT in the public sector and has led legal defence in key cases concerning the VAT treatment of subsidies.

Driving the Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice

Silvia Monje, lawyer and current Head of the Litigation area, has been appointed partner following a career spanning more than 22 years advising companies and individuals.

She holds a Law degree from the University of Barcelona and focuses her practice on leading complex litigation in civil and commercial courts, covering areas such as contracts, leases, family law, corporate disputes and liability actions.

In recent years, she has developed strong expertise in Insolvency Law, advising both companies and individuals in insolvency proceedings. She also has solid experience in economic and financial criminal law, reinforced by her years of practice within the Barcelona Criminal Legal Aid Service.
